Warning to district 6 and others considering de-zoning
This memo was written for District 6 parents and Community Education Council members, who with the encouragement of DOE are considering eliminating all school attendance zones in their district. Apparently there are other districts, including D7 and D9 in the Bronx, are considering the same course of action. I believe this proposal is a Trojan Horse, and has the potential of allowing DOE to close any public school and to put a charter school in its place.
